A case of invasive mole causing uterine perforation is a rare occurren
ce. We describe a patient who had an acute surgical abdomen. Explorati
on of the peritoneal cavity revealed uterine perforation and hemoperit
oneum. A total abdominal hysterectomy was necessary because of extensi
ve uterine wall damage and to ensure hemostasis. Pathologic examinatio
n of the tissue revealed an invasive mole with a focal rupture of the
uterus.
