Abstract
Growth and physiological properties of the mutant MCd1, derived from t he filamentous fungus Trichoderma viride using cadmium, were studied. The growth rate of MCd1 was considerable lower and its biochemical pro perties and morphology were quite different from that of the parental strain. This mutant formed relatively thin uncoloured mycelium without conidia and excreted crystallizing metabolites into the cultivation m edium.
