A. Grzejdziak, THE AG(II) AG(I) SYSTEM IN THE PRESENCE OF SATURATED TETRAAZACYCLIC AMINES IN ACETONITRILE, Polish Journal of Chemistry, 68(7), 1994, pp. 1395-1404
The stability constants (beta) of Ag(I) complexes with 1,4,8,11-tetraa
zacyclotetradecane (TACT), ramethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane(
TMTACT) and 1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclopentadecane (TACP) in acetonitrile h
ave been determined. Their values are: for TACT- log beta = 7.684, for
TMTACT-log beta = 9.580, for TACP-log beta = 8.659. The solubility pr
oduct of AgTACPClO4 in acetonitrile, equals K(so)-1(4.2+/-0.1)x10(4).
The mechanism of electrode processes of the Ag(I) and Ag(II) complexes
with the amines under investigation has been elucidated and the forma
l potentials of the forming redox systems have been determined. The po
ssibility of the disproportionation of the Ag(I) complexes as a functi
on of the nature of a solvent is discussed.
