Bm. Lewis, SUPPLEMENT TO THE ARECIBO-1612 MHZ SURVEY OF COLOR-SELECTED IRAS SOURCES, The Astrophysical journal. Supplement series, 93(2), 1994, pp. 549-567
The completeness of the Arecibo 1612 MHz survey of color-selected IRAS
sources is extended to (25-12) mum > -0.7. In addition (1) most IR so
urces with spectral types normally associated with OH/IR stars and col
ors outside the coverage of the original survey have been examined; (2
) most ambiguous observations during the survey have been reobserved;
(3) most single peaked sources have been reexamined, and 17 found with
second peaks. We report 39 new 1612 MHz detections, of which 34 are o
riginal. These are also surveyed in the mainlines. Analysis of the com
plete flux-limited survey confirms the existence of a longitude sensit
ivity effect in the detection of sources, which reduces the total numb
er detected by almost-equal-to 4%. This analysis sets an upper limit o
f 16% on the proportion of a color-selected sample that may be identif
ied with carbon stars and/or star-formation regions.
