Abstract
Results are presented concerning the dependence of magnetostrictive de lay line (MDL) output on the width of the exciting pulsed field, using Fe-rich amorphous ribbons and wires as delay lines. Such a response i s used to determine the optimum exciting pulse for maximum MDL sensiti vity.
