Ta. Brown et al., CURRENT STATUS OF THE C-14 AMS PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY-OF-WASHINGTON, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 92(1-4), 1994, pp. 16-21
Recent modifications of the C-14 AMS system at the University of Washi
ngton Nuclear Physics Laboratory have significantly improved the perfo
rmance of the system. Analysis of various data sets produced under our
ongoing program to evaluate the precision and accuracy of the C-14 AM
S measurements shows that less-than-or-equal-to 3 parts per thousand o
f the scatter in the measurements cannot be accounted for by counting
statistics uncertainties and indicates that inaccuracies in the measur
ements introduced by systematic errors are less than 3 parts per thous
and. Current scientific studies being undertaken with the University o
f Washington C-14 AMS system are discussed briefly.
