Abstract
Preliminary results are presented for I-129/I and Cl-36/Cl ratios in f ormation waters from the KTB project in Germany, geothermal waters fro m the Salton Sea Geothermal System in California and oilfield brines f rom the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma. The results demonstrate the use of these isotopic systems to determine residence times, source formation s and pathways of fluids in different geologic situations.
