M. Gascoyne et al., ORIGIN OF GROUNDWATER SALINITY IN THE LAC-DU-BONNET GRANITE, SOUTHEASTERN MANITOBA, FROM CL-36 MEASUREMENTS, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 92(1-4), 1994, pp. 389-392
The results of analyses of the Cl-36 content of groundwaters in the La
c du Bonnet granite batholith are described and compared with previous
modelling calculations and Cl-36 content of rock matrix solutions obt
ained from a borehole leaching experiment. The results are used to pro
vide support for the proposal that groundwater salinity is largely der
ived from dissolution of soluble salts in the rock matrix.
