Lr. Kilius et al., THE DISPERSAL OF I-129 FROM THE COLUMBIA RIVER ESTUARY, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 92(1-4), 1994, pp. 393-397
I-129/I isotopic ratios have been measured in algae samples, collected
along the north-west portion of the Pacific coastline of North Americ
a, as part of a preliminary study, to determine the extent and concent
ration of I-129 leaving the Columbia River. These isotopic ratios were
found to be in excess of the nuclear weapons testing level, however a
ll were significantly lower than those previously measured from Europe
an nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities.
