REVISION OF THE TRIBE EUPLECTRINI OF SRI-LANKA (HYMENOPTERA, EULOPHIDAE)

Genera and species of the tribe Euplectrini (Eulophidae) am revised fo r Sri Lanka. Four genera are recognized: Euplectrus, Euplectromorpha, Metaplectrus and Platyplectrus. Previously, two species of Metaplectru s and Platyplectrus, and one species of Euplectrus and Euplectromorpha were recorded from Sri Lanka. Eight Euplectrus species are described as new (atrafacies, colliosilvus, geethae, litoralis, mellocoxus, nibi lis, peechansis and xanthovultus). Two previously described species fr om India are recorded as present in Sri Lanka. Five species previously placed in this genus are removed to other euplectrine genera as follo ws: E. flavescens Crawford - Aroplectrus flavescens (Crawford), comb. nov.; E. nigromaculatus Ashmead = Euplectromorpha nigromaculatus (Ashm ead), comb. nov.; E. philippinensis Ashmead = Platyplectrus philippine nsis (Ashmead), comb. nov.; E. rugosus Crawford = P. rugosus (Crawford ), comb. nov.; and E. japonicus Ashmead = Platyplectrus japonicus (Ash mead), comb. nov. E. ornatus is removed from Euplectrini and placed as Cirrospilus ornatus (Mukerjee), comb. nov. (in Eulophini). Three new Euplectromorpha species (formosus, jamburaliyaensis and laminum), one new Metaplectrus species (teresgaster), and five new Platyplectrus spe cies (coracinus, flavus, gannoruwaensis, melinus and truncatus) are de scribed. Platyplectrus viridiceps (Ferriere), previously known from In dia and Malaysia, is recorded from Sri Lanka. A lectotype is designate d for Metaplectrus solitarius Gadd. Platyplectrus kuriani Wijesekara, new name, is given to Euplectromorpha natadae Kurian.
