Abstract
The development of an elastic-plastic fracture mechanics model for pre dicting fatigue crack growth rates in notched specimens is presented i n this paper. The model is based on experimental short and long crack growth results from un-notched specimens and the distribution of Strai n ahead of the notch root. This approach may be applied to the assessm ent of the lifetime of many high technology engineering components.
