Abstract
In the extraction of uranium(VI) by 5% (v/v) Aliquat 336(R(3)R'NH2PO4) , 5% (v/v) PC88A ((AH)(2)) and their binary mixture (1:1) in xylene fr om 0.4-1.4 M aqueous H3PO4 solution, the distribution ratio decreases gradually with increasing acidity. A synergistic effect is observed ov er the entire range of aqueous H3PO4 concentration, which may be attri buted to the formation of mixed adduct species, UO(2)A(2)(R(3)R'N)(2)( H2PO4)(2) in the extracted organic phase.
