Abstract
The putative repressor-encoding gene cl of the temperate lactococcal b acteriophage Tuc2009 was cloned and sequenced. In the inferred amino-a cid sequence, two domains can be recognized, one of which shows homolo gy to DNA-binding domains of various regulatory proteins, while the ot her is thought to be involved in oligomerisation.
