Abstract
This article introduces a theoretical method based on the resolution o f Maxwell's equations in the time domain using an extended version of a FDTD algorithm. This approach allows the modeling of optical pulse p ropagation in nonlinear media; for this, dispersive and nonlinear mode ls have been introduced in the code. Two versions of the method are pr oposed, the accuracy of this approach is shown, and then some results on the propagation of a soliton are given. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
