Abstract
A specimen of golden roach (Rutilus rutilus aberr. erythrina Fatio, 18 82) from the Moravian River Oslava, the tributary to the Mostiste Rese rvoir, is described. The coloration of the xanthoric specimen was deep ly orange, the eye bright red. Black pigment was retained in the form of small spots around the eye margin, at the margins of scales along t he longitudinal dorsal line, and to two non-branched rays of the dorsa l fin. In the aquarium, this specimen showed a slightly different beha viour compared with roach of normal coloration.
