Abstract
The reference values for plasma and urine citrate were obtained from o ur 3-14 years old population (373 children). The plasma values (x = 98 .11 +/- 23.84 mumol/L) did not show any variation with growth or sex. The citrate clearance and other most an loss phase check expressions o f citrate excretion increased with age and significant differences bet ween males and females were found. Only citrate excretion related to b ody, weight (x = 45.78 +/- 19.28 mumol/kg/24 hours) did not vary with growth or sex.
