W. Seeber et al., SPECTROSCOPIC AND LASER PROPERTIES OF CE3-CR3+-ND3+ CO-DOPED FLUORIDEPHOSPHATE AND PHOSPHATE-GLASSES(), Journal of non-crystalline solids, 171(1), 1994, pp. 94-104
Spectroscopic, luminescence-kinetic and laser properties of Ce-Cr-Nd c
o-doped fluoride phosphate and phosphate glasses are given. Ce3+ ions
act efficiently as sensitizer and Ce3+/4+ ions, incorporated in glasse
s, prevent UV radiation damage. The co-doping of Cr3+ ions produces on
ly a marginal increase of laser efficiency as the result of non-radiat
ive deactivation of Cr3+, connected with increasing temperature of the
active laser media. Fluoride phosphate glasses with phosphate content
s between 10 and 20 mol% are good hosts for Nd3+ laser ions.
