Abstract
An adaptive estimator of the complex gain of a fading channel is propo sed. Tracking of the fading process is achieved without knowledge of t he fading spectrum. This enables coherent detection of MPSK to be perf ormed. Simulations show good error rate performance. The receiver find s applications in mobile radio communications.
