Abstract
This paper considers several issues to be addressed in relation to the quantitative analysis of defect-related properties of BaTiO3. These i ssues will be considered in more detail in following papers in terms o f defect chemistry and related electrical properties, such as electric al conductivity, thermopower and work function, as well as transport p roperties of BaTiO3 This set of papers involves a major collection of data, describing properties of BaTiO3, and their critical analysis.
