Abstract
A theory is developed for binary mixtures of nonsimple fluids. The mai n aim of the paper is to derive the basic equations which govern the m echanical behaviour of a mixture of two compressible Newtonian fluids. The linearized version of the theory is presented. A representation o f Galerkin type is established and the fundamental solutions in the ca se of steady vibrations are derived.
