A simple reversed-phase HPLC technique is shown to be applicable to th
e analysis of aqueous emulsions of textile-lubricant formulations. The
method may be used for the analysis of lubricants before and after ap
plication to a polyester fibre. The effect of heat on the emulsion is
examined in both the absence and the presence of the fibre, and select
ive losses of, and interactions between, formulation components are de
monstrated.
