W. Drescher et al., EXCIPLEX EMISSION FROM STYRENE - ALIPHATIC AMINE ADDUCTS IN A SUPERSONIC JET, Chemical physics letters, 224(3-4), 1994, pp. 391-398
Fluorescence from jet-cooled adducts of styrene and aliphatic amines i
s reported. Exciplex-type emission is observed from styrene: tertiary
amine adducts, as in previous solution work, and from styrene: seconda
ry amines for the first time. The exciplexes are characterized by much
longer decay times than the locally excited adducts, that are also fo
und to fluoresce in the jet. The relation of these findings to solutio
n photophysics and photochemistry of these systems is discussed.
