Abstract
Preliminary results on new thin-layer solid-state lithium batteries wi th unique characteristics which make them of interest for the consumer electronic market are reported. The novelty of these lithium batterie s is that they use low resistance cathode materials in combination wit h highly conductive polymer electrolytes. This combination gives flat (constant voltage) discharge curves, a limited but Yet significant cyc ling life, and a high power capability at ambient and subambient tempe ratures.
