Abstract
Iais elongata is redescribed from a freshwater stream on Inaccessible Island, Tristan da Cunha archipelago. The presence of several males, e ach in amplexus with a stage 1 manca, demonstrates that precopula or m ate guarding, which also provides some measure of offspring protection in a swift-flowing stream, occurs in this species.
