M. Schmitt et al., IGA-DEFICIENCY AND REDUCED INFECTION DEFE NSE IN DOGS WITH CHRONIC DERMATITIDES, Monatshefte fur Veterinarmedizin, 49(6), 1994, pp. 285-287
Dogs with chronic or recurrent dermatitides, caused by mycosis or demo
dicosis, had markedly reduced serum concentrations of IgA in compariso
n with healthy control-dogs. In most cases the IgA-deficiency was asso
ciated with a significant decrease of chemotactic and phagocytic capac
ities of the polymorphonuclear granulocytes of the affected dogs.
