A 22 year old man who sustained a severe closed head injury after a hi
gh speed motor car accident underwent routine placement of percutaneou
s endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) for feeding purposes. Nine days after i
ts insertion an enterocutaneous fistula was diagnosed around the PEG t
ube. A loop of mid-jejunum had been transfixed during die insertion of
die PEG.
