Zk. Feng et al., THE EFFECT OF NOISE ON PATTERN DYNAMICS DURING DICTYOSTELIUM-DISCOIDEUM AGGREGATION, Communications in Theoretical Physics, 21(4), 1994, pp. 495-498
In this paper, we studied the effect of noise on pattern dynamics of t
he spatial modulated two-variable diffusion-reaction model. We found t
hat the dynamical behavior becomes more complex when noise is added. T
he interaction between dynamic and stochastic force gives rise to the
following features: 1) In spatiotemporal chaotic phase, the oscillatio
n death emerges in some spatial sites when the noise level exceeds a c
ritical value. We call it noise-induced Oscillation death. 2) In co-ex
istence phase of chaotic and steady state, noise brings about oscillat
ion behavior in the domain of oscillation death when its level exceeds
a critical value. We call it noise-induced re-excitation of oscillati
on. 3) There exist alternating periodic-chaotic states versus the nois
e level in some spatial sites. 4) There exist superstable domains. In
these domains the qualitative features do not change as the noise leve
l increases.
