Abstract
The resolution of the three-dimensional character of flows using hot-w ire/film techniques can be achieved using either single or multiple se nsors. This paper introduces a rotational technique employing normal s traight-sensor probes particularly suitable for three-dimensional lami nar or turbulent flows. The technique is based on the linearized const ant-temperature anemometer signal in the case of isothermal flows and the corrected linearized signal in flows involving heat transfer. The method has been tested in the isothermal flow field of a round jet dis charging to a cross flow in a water channel.
