F. Cascetta, APPLICATION OF A PORTABLE CLAMP-ON ULTRASONIC FLOWMETER IN THE WATER INDUSTRY, FLOW MEASUREMENT AND INSTRUMENTATION, 5(3), 1994, pp. 191-194
This paper illustrates the experimental results obtained in a volume f
low rate measurement application performed in the water industry. A cl
amp-on (transit time) portable ultrasonic flowmeter is compared to an
in-line (or wetted) electromagnetic meter (used as a master meter). Bo
th meters are mounted in series along a long stretch of pipe in a wate
r distribution network. This in situ comparison gives satisfactory res
ults, since the measurements provided by the two flowmeters are substa
ntially in accordance.
