A. Francois et al., THROMBOTIC MICROANGIOPATHY REVEALING HUMA N-IMMUNODEFICIENCY-VIRUS INFECTION - HISTOLOGY AND ULTRASTRUCTURE, Annales de medecine interne, 145(3), 1994, pp. 185-192
Thrombotic microangiopathy has recently been documented in association
with human immunodenciency virus infection. The authors present the c
linical laboratory, histologic and electron microscopic kidney study f
eatures of one case of thrombotic microangiopathy revealing human immu
nodeficiency virus infection. They also review 28 previously reported
cases of thrombotic microangiopathy associated with human immunodefici
ency virus infection and discuss different pathogenic hypothesis which
could be involved in genesis of human immunodeficiency virus-associat
ed thrombotic microangiopathy.
