Abstract
In this paper, the new Lagrangian method introduced by Loh and Hui is extended for 3D steady supersonic flow computation. We present the der ivation of the conservation form and the solution of the local Riemann solver using the Godunov and the high resolution TVD schemes. The new approach is accurate and robust, capable of handling complicated geom etry and interactions between discontinuous waves. As shown in the tes t problems, the current Lagrangian method retains all the advantages c laimed in the 2D method, e.g., crisp resolution of a slip-surface (con tact discontinuity) and automatic grid generation. In this paper, we a lso suggest a novel 3D Riemann problem in which interesting and intric ate flow features are present. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
