Abstract
A simple, precise, and rapid high performance thin layer chromatograph ic method has been developed for simultaneous determination of theophy lline and etofylline in pharmaceutical dosages. The response is linear in the concentration range 20-80 ng for theophylline and 60-240 ng fo r etofylline. The R(F) values are 0.58, 0.48, and 0.41 for theophyllin e, etofylline, and paracetamol (internal standard), respectively. The method is applicable for the determination of theophylline and etofyll ine in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The results obtained are statistic ally comparable.
