Abstract
From above ground parts of Achillea collina L., proline, stachydrine, betonicine, betaine and choline were isolated as the major nitrogen co ntaining compounds. The TLC screening of 11 different species belongin g to A. millefolium group showed qualitatively identical betaine patte rns but quantitative differences were observed.
