Abstract
Laparoscopic ovariohysterectomy in a bitch was performed using minimal invasive surgery. The animal was placed in a supine 30-degrees head d own position and was ventilated in a volume-controlled manner. For ins tallation of the pneumoperitoneum, CO2 was insufflated up to a pressur e of 12 mmHg. All ligatures were carried out in a special endoscopic e xtracoporeal knot-technique. Uterus and adnexa were removed through th e 10 mm port positioned in the right lower abdominal quadrant. Duratio n of surgery was 60 min. Postoperative recovery was short and uneventf ul because of the minimal abdominal trauma.
