Pulsed phase conjugate reflectivities of a signal in excess of 500% ar
e achieved in a single BaTiO3 crystal using four-wave mixing configura
tion in which the same crystal produces self-pumped phase conjugation
to generate the counterpropagating pump. A physical explanation is giv
en to describe the angular dependence of the experimentally observed p
hase conjugate reflectivity.
