Abstract
In recent years, the pest Amerrhinus ynca (Col. Curculionidae) has bec ome increasingly important in Bahia and Sergipe States. Information is given on the insect's biology and the damage it causes by mining the leaf rachis. A control method by cutting off affected leaves and then destroying them at a precise time is proposed.
