Abstract
{(C8H8)Dy[mu-OCH2(CH2)2CH=CH2](THF)}2 was prepared by the reaction of (C8H8)DyCl(THF)n with CH2=CH(CH2)2CH2ONa in THF and characterized by s pectroscopic, analytical and crystallographic methods. Its crystal str ucture shows that the complex is a dimer with a Dy3+ coordinated to on e C8H8 ligand, one THF and two bridging OCH2(CH2)2CH=CH2 groups. The a verage Dy-C(C8H8 ring) distance is 2.593(6) angstrom. The Dy-O(THF) an d average Dy-O(OR) distances are 2.431(4) and 2.260(8) angstrom, respe ctively.
