Abstract
High resolution RBA-banding patterns of Dama dama prometaphase chromos omes and their ideograms are presented as models for the definition of the standard RBA-banded karyotype of the species. The haploid set of RBA-banded prometaphase chromosomes, including the X and Y gonosomes, has revealed 527 bands, of which 191 are R-positive, 254 are R-negativ e and 82 are intermediate.
