The title compound is isolated from the reaction of [{U(C(5)Me(5))(2)(
mu-Cl)}(3)] with [K(18-crown-6)][ReH6(PPh(3))(2)] (18-crown-6 = 1,4,7,
10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane) and is oxidized by TlBPh(4) into the
neutral derivative [(C(5)Me(5))(2)(Cl)UH6Re(PPh(3))(2)]; the H-1 NMR s
pectra reveal that in both complexes, the uranium and rhenium atoms ar
e linked by three bridging hydrides.
