Abstract
A need exists to further develop new technologies, such as remote sens ing and geographic information systems analysis, for estimating arthro pod vector abundance in aquatic habitats and predicting adult vector p opulation outbreaks. A brief overview of remote sensing technology in vector surveillance and control is presented, and suggestions are made on future research opportunities in light of current and proposed rem ote sensing systems.
