J. Bayo et al., CHLORAMPHENICOL EXTRACTION FROM MILK BY USING THE DIPHASIC DIALYSIS METHOD FOLLOWED BY LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION, Journal of AOAC International, 77(4), 1994, pp. 854-856
An economical, fast, and simple method for the extraction and liquid c
hromatographic determination of chloramphenicol (CAP) in milk is descr
ibed. CAP is extracted by using a recently developed membrane-based me
thod named ''diphasic dialysis.'' CAP is detected and quantitated in t
he organic solvent used in dialysis without additional cleanup steps b
y reversed-phase liquid chromatography and UV detection (270 nm). The
determination limit of CAP in milk was about 5 mug/L, although as litt
le as 1 mug/L could be detected under optimal working conditions.
