Vf. Ivanov et al., SPECTRAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF EVAPORATION-DEPOSITED POLYANILINE, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 30(3), 1994, pp. 340-343
A method for preparation of polyaniline films by thermal vacuum evapor
ation is presented. Spectral investigations, as well as potentiodynami
c measurements, on such layers were carried out. It was inferred from
the data that the second oxidation stage (which corresponds to a trans
ition from emeraldine to pemigraniline) for the evaporation-deposited
polyaniline layers is absent. Such behavior would originate from the d
efects of the evaporation-deposited polyaniline molecular structure, n
amely, from small sizes of the polymer molecules and disruption of the
head-to-tail alternation of monomer units that is typical for alterna
tive methods of preparation of polyaniline layers.
