The adsorption behavior of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-oxypiperidine is stud
ied on mercury in alkaline solutions of sodium tripolyphosphate in the
absence and presence of a constant amount of aminoacetic acid. A depe
ndence of the adsorption energy of the studied substance on the electr
ode potential is calculated from experimental isotherms of two-dimensi
onal pressure. On the basis of this dependence, it is concluded that t
wo adsorption states are realized at the adsorption of this substance
on a mercury surface. It is shown that the surface activity of 2,2,6,6
-tetramethyl-4-oxypiperidine decreases in the presence of aminoacetic
acid. The adsorption parameters are calculated.
