The influence of the addition of tetraethylammonium tetrachloroferrate
Et4NFeCl4 (TEATCF) on the electropolymerization (EP) of pyrrole and t
he electrochemical properties of polypyrrole (PP) films obtained poten
tiodynamically or galvanostatically is studied using cyclic voltammetr
y and preparative electrolysis. Introduction of TEATCF into the electr
olyte at the stage of pyrrole EP is shown to accelerate the process an
d lead to an increase in the roughness on the surface of the PP films
that are formed. The addition of TEATCF allows one to obtain conductin
g films under galvanostatic conditions and without degradation of the
polymeric material, even at elevated current densities.
