Blood samples were collected at monthly intervals from 28 Jersey cross
bred cows in different stages of lactation and parities for estimating
blood glucose, albumin, urea-nitrogen, cholesterol and SGOT. The bloo
d glucose level was generally low. The lowest value was recorded durin
g the early part of lactation. The low mean albumin level indicated th
at the cows were receiving insufficient proteins in the diet. Many of
the estimated blood constituents had highly significant positive corre
lation with current milk yield.
