Abstract
Published data on nuclear resonance photon scattering (NRPS), in the M eV range, from metallic targets were analysed to get the mean-square z ero-point linear momenta [p(x)2) of the scattering atoms. It is shown that when these are combined with known experimental values of [x2] at 0 K, the theoretical lower limit of the Uncertainty Principle may be approached to within a few percent.
