New procedure of separation of heavy actinides from other actinides wi
th the use of Mg(OH)(2) at low oxidation potentials is developed. In t
he presence of Sm2+ and NaBPh(4) the content of Yb (as an Fm analog),
Es, Cf, and Am in solution after a single precipitation of Sm(OH)(3) i
s 95-97, 85, 84, and 1.1% of the initial content, respectively. The po
ssibility of isolation of heavy actinides with the use of lanthanides(
II) as reductants is revealed.
