The electrochemical behavior of tantalum in the FLINAK-K2TaF7 Melt is
studied by the linear sweep voltammetry method. Within the temperature
range from 845 to 1088 K Ta(V) ions can be reduced to metal in one st
age; at polarization rates below 0.5 V/s, the process proceeds quasi-r
eversibly. At higher rates it is irreversible. Within the studied temp
erature range the diffusion coefficient of Ta(V) ions varies from 1.12
to 3.70 x 10(-5) cm2/s; the diffusion activation energy is 39.1 kJ/mo
l.
