Ey. Pisarevskaya et Md. Levi, THE BEHAVIOR OF A BENZOQUINONE HYDROQUINONE REDOX COUPLE AT A POLYPHENYLENEDIAMINE-COATED ELECTRODE, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 30(1), 1994, pp. 46-53
The electrode behavior of a ladder redox polymer, poly-o-phenylenediam
ine (PPD), in an electrochemical reaction that involved solute electro
active species (p-benzoquinone or hydroquinone) was investigated at a
PPD-coated gold electrode by using rotating disk electrode and cyclic
voltammetry techniques. The electrode behavior of PPD was compared wit
h the behavior of its closest electronically conducting analog, polyan
iline. The distinctions in their electrode behavior are discussed in t
erms of the theoretical concepts of the potential drop distribution at
the metal/polymer/electrolyte solution interfaces.
