Abstract
A synthesis is presented of the history of deglaciation, vegetation co ver and climate in New Brunswick, Canada, during that part of the Wisc onsinan Late-glacial period (12-9 ka BP) for which detailed records ex ist. Curves of inferred temperature variations in the region during th is period are presented based upon qualitative interpretations of plan t records and quantitative estimates based upon fossil chironomid asse mblages.
